Hello Friends,
I need some assistance to identify and resolve a longstanding issue I have been experiencing with using RTSP input from mobile phones over WiFi. I use the RTSP Camera Server App for Android found in the Google Play store to bring video into vMix from 4 cell phones. At random times, parts of the image is lost and a portion of the screen grays out. It then comes back to normal after 2 to 3 seconds. I'm at a loss as to what causes that and how do I resolve it. After many weeks of testing, I have looked at resolutions, frame rates, bit rates, WiFi bandwidth, Keyframe intervals, Deinterlace blend, RSTP over UDP/TCP/VLC and many other settings by trial and error. I have not got anything to work.

I'm using the latest version of vMix on an MSI gaming laptop with the 2070 graphics card.

I need to know what causes this. Appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Rob.

The WiFi link is inadequate. Try increasing the buffer duration. And/or reduce the resolution of the camera. Or use Ethernet.

Thanks very much, I adjusted the camera settings to reduce the resolution and the production quality increased significantly. I still got some "gray outs" but not as many as before. I will adjust the resolution settings downward some more to eliminate the problem completely.

Thanks,
Rob
