Hi all:

We did a remote live stream fundraiser for a client today to Facebook Live. No backup stream against our recommendation,
client only wanted to stream to their FB Live page. We have great connectivity here, vMix behaved well, two live hosts, several
video roll ins.

Main system was running VMix 23.0.0.67
Backup Encoder was running VMix 23.0.0.60

Everything was good except our connection to FB Live was crap on two systems on two hardwired separate Internet connections (main on Spectrum
Business Class, backup on AT&T). Talent had good, solid connection on vMix call, even three producers in our green room had
good solid connections.

The Streaming Light Indicator in the interface was flashing from Red to Orange on and off the whole stream, about an hour. Monitoring FB on another computer, the video looked like 10-12 fps, super strobey and low frame rate looking, FB audio was fine. We tried rebooting Vmix on both systems with hard reboots right before we went live, no change.

I've researched any connection issues with FB live today, nothing can be found. We are now test streaming to YouTube Live, same crappy connection, but then without changing anything or any settings, we are streaming rock solid to LiveStream.com, StreamSpot, DeCast and Vimeo Live? Makes no sense to me. We don't think that FB Live and YouTube Live would be using the same servers and gateways but who knows? We were going to suggest the client switch their platform at the last minute to YouTube Live but then we went to YouTube to try it five minutes before live and it was garbage connection too so we stuck with FB Live. It never cleared up or got better as the stream progressed. It was the same crap connection all of the way through the one hour stream.

We've eliminated all of the variables on our end that we can think of, but there are some much smarter, more savvy network and PC engineers in our community here, what do you think was happening? Client and us want answers so as to obviously avoid this in the future.

Is there something in the vMix encoder settings that might make the connection to FB Live and YouTube Live crap but the others we tried like Vimeo and StreamSpot would be fine with? We were streaming 720p 3.5Mbps, keyframe every 2 seconds, baseline profile, audio AAC 128Kbps, 48Khz sample rate. Our connection is rock solid here, have been getting 700Mpps down and 160-200Mbps up, we've checked for corrupt data packets too.

Ideas? Thoughts? Just for kicks we just tried LiveStream Studio to YouTube Live, no issues. Just tried LiveStream Studio back to FB Live and it's working fine.

Kind of stumped.
