I have 3 cameras, a Sony X70, and 2 Sony Handycams. All three are attached to a Magewell Quad HDMI card via HDMI. The last few broadcasts, one of the Handycams stopped working. The vMix input screen for that camera went black. Another time the other Handycam went black. Normally I would say that the camera is failing, but both times I turned off the camera during the broadcast, then waited 5 minutes and turned it back on, but it stayed black. After the broadcast, with all cameras on and one was black, I closed vMix, then re-started it (all cameras still on) and when vMix came back on, all cameras were working. Is this a camera problem or a vMix problem? Computer specs shown below.
i7 9700, GTX 1060 with 6 GB ram, 32 GB system ram, 500 GB SSD system disc. The fourth Magewell connector has a laptop connected via HDMI which is running during broadcasts vMix running at about 20% total system resources most of the time.

Since the problem only happens with the HandyCams, check them to make sure the Power Saver function is set to OFF, and so is Demo Mode.

The cable length is 35 feet. Is this a problem? I have disabled the demo mode and deleted the demo movie. I will check the power saver, however, the camera has worked for almost a year without a problem until now. The problem started after the latest vMix update, so am thinking that is the problem, even though it is probably a long shot. The other thing that makes me think it's a vMix problem, is that restarting the camera during a broadcast does not fix it. But with the camera on, and a vMix shut down and re-start, the camera starts working again after re-starting vMix.

The cable length can have an influence. The output HDMI signal can have different strengths. Test once with a shorter cable. HDMI Cable Length - Everything You Need To Know! https://thehometheaterdi...ce-of-hdmi-cable-length/

Hello i have a panasonic hc-v180 that suddenly had this problem. My hdmi cable is 25 meters. The way i solved it was to connect a hdmi splitter and an extra hdmi cable about 2meters that i connect from camera to input of hdmi splitter and to the output of hdmi splitter the big hdmi cable. The weird thing is that it happened suddenly.
