I need a predictable filename that gets automatically generated after each start and stop recording. That way I can automate my process because I do different things with each segment of the recording.

Clip1_part01 (manual)
Clip1_part02 (automatic name after start stop)
Clip1_part03 (automatic name after start stop)
Clip1_part04 (automatic name after start stop)

then I manually enter “Clip2_part01”
Clip2_part01 (manual)
Clip2_part02 (automatic name after start stop)

with the time I can not predict the file name at least I don't know how.
so I am asking for a naming solution without overwriting that generates automatically a predictable name. OBS does that ant lots of software just ads a number at the end...

we rename recordings on a regular basis with predetermined names pulled from a title for example driven by a data source and add a number in case of duplicate automatically

Basically you check for the latest recording and rename it to your liking

Thank you! That sounds quite similar to what I am trying to do, but I have now clue how I can do it :-( . I have no expertise in writing scripts and stuff like this

We are actually using this script, but I don't understand it. How would I connect this to a database where I enter my names plus then automatically adding numbers with every start and stop? I am afraid I have no idea how to do that.
