Transitions Not Working *SOLVED*

Hi All,
I just downloaded the demo of this on Windows and I am excited to see what it can do. However, when I have a something in the preview window (the window on the right) and I click a transition button, only the preview screen is affected. For example, if I click "Cut", the preview disappears and the image in the live window remains unaffected. The same thing happens no matter which transition I click. I can change the preview input easily, but I can't affect the live feed no matter what I do, including using the buttons on the scenes I have in the bar below the preview.
Any ideas on how I can do this? Or am I having this issue because I am using the preview version?

Sigh. I figured it out. If I have the "1" button clicked, I can't change the live view. If I unclick it, I can. A little non-intuitive for this old brain. But I figured it out.

The "1" is an overlay channel on top of the program feed.
