Would it be possible to allow mix inputs to be selected as sources for replay?

I cover motorsport events where each car starts separately but there can be up to three on the track at the same time (rallying and down hill skiing are similar). I use a mix input to follow each car across cameras and then send a mix, or a multiview of a couple of mixes, to output depend on what the commentator is focusing on.

Being able to replay a mix would be useful to show a car that was missed live as there can be more than 8 cameras along the track - though audio would need some more thought (associating an audio bus with a mix when recoded on replay would be great)

A more generally useful benefit of allowing mix inputs to be used in replay would be avoiding using up an output when you want to use an input type that isn't supported by replay.

Thank you.

Edit: some more uses for mix inputs as replay sources
  • Replay recordings ignore any position transformations made to the camera input. Going via a mix would burn them in.
  • Replay recordings ignore effects on the camera input. Going via a mix would burn them in.
  • Colour tab adjustments on replay sources are applied when replays are played out, but it is the current settings that are used. If you are recording a long event outdoors and lighting changes, so you are adjusting the colour settings, playing out an event from earlier in the day will have the wrong colours applied.
  • You can't configure replay if a source is off line, going via mix inputs would solve that.

Unfortunately Mix inputs don't generate NDI outputs. That probably should be another feature request but I don't really like bring in an NDI output back into the production - it just feels inefficient going through the NDI SDK twice rather than keep it internal. I do currently do it (or use the vMix Video camera that has a bit less load than NDI) to bring in the main output to add to a layout to send to commentators screens but it feels wrong!
Sorry if I've missed the point you were trying to make.

Unfortunately I'm already using them. My current setup is
Output 1 : Stream - Backup recording
Output 2 : Clean recording
Output 3 : Commentator's PGM with extra overlays (NDI)
Output 4 : Official's multiview (NDI)
