Hey everyone!
Longtime Vmix user here. Ill keep it short. For a client I am working on a virtual Esports production that uses Vmix for my player to capture World of Warcraft and stream it to both their own channels and my official stream virtual production.
One problem I encountered today is that Vmix fails to capture the game in anything but Windowcapture mode with desktop capture. Which has the nasty addition of having a yellow line around the game.
After some troubleshooting I quickly found out that since the games most recent update it forced everyone that could onto DirectX 12 api, instead of DX11. When setting the game to DX11 I do get proper capture in vmix.
Now I can have everyone run the game on DX11, but for performance (they are the top end players competing in the Race to world first) I would rather have them on DX12. Theres some benchmarks that show the game has a doubling of 0.1% low fps which reduces the feel of micro-stutters.
Is there anyone else that has encountered this issue, and found any possible workarounds? Stability is key for us.
