For streaming to a platform that allows a main and a backup stream, it would be nice if a stream could be directed to a specific LAN port.
A vMix machine with 2 LAN ports could then run a main and a backup stream at the same time. The big advantage of running a backup stream is that, at least on the platform we use, there is no interruption of the stream for the viewer, because the platform switches seamlessly to the backup.

As I already answered you in another post, it's not vMix's job to manage networking/routing issues ! vMix is a live production switcher, not a router !
vMix is supposed to be used on the network that has a router to bring at least a gateway for the internet. If you want failover for internet access, just use multi wan routers which can be connected to the internet through different ISPs.
