Set up for coverage of an upcoming four court pickleball event:

On the network:
Three laptops running vMix, each with own vMix license.
One Tricaster Mini, using HDMI cams, for "center court"

Streaming a "main feed" to YouTube off the Tricaster (with commentary/added graphics), along with two of the three vMix laptops (using ambient audio) to YouTube as well, depending on the matches taking place in a round.

Looking to pull in the vMix laptop feeds into the Tricaster as needed, for lulls in action, show end of certain matches, etc.

Problem is, the Tricaster will only "see" one vMix feed, even if all three NDI outputs on the vMix laptops are active.

If I turn off the "first" Vmix NDI source, which seems to be the first laptop external output activated, then another vMix NDI source jumps into place on the TriCaster input, with the same source name as the turned off laptop. Turn off the second vMix laptop, the third laptop NDI appears on the TriCaster input.

Is there a way to rename or change a setting so that each vMix out of the laptops has it's own NDI source identifier?

Thanks for any advice.

They are all already identified differently on my end....

Might seem dumb, but have you tried rebooting? :')

Multiple reboots on all vMix laptops and the Tricaster.

Also, just tried using a NewTek Spark on one of the vMix laptops after shutting off NDI on the external output - TriCaster recognized the Spark & the next vMix laptop on the network - third laptop still not found is a NDI source by TC, until second laptop had external output NDI stopped, then third jumped into the TriCaster input.

And the input on the TriCaster never changes from vMix Output 1, no matter what laptop gets picked up.

Sorry, I've just read the thread again and I don't know why, but I thought you were talking about three vMix NDI Outputs, not three actual vMix laptops with each multiple outputs.

I don't think I can do anything to help you on that one sadly.

What you could try is to identify wich device is faulty.
Make an image with the vMIX machine name.(Court1-3 or similar)
Crate this as an input and send it over NDI.

Make this on all 3machines.

Now open NDI inputs and look what you will find. You should find 3NDI Feeds they can find them self)
Add The other two feeds to each machine.
If you can see these three Names clearly vMiX works correct and the tricaster ist the problem.

Futher Thoughts:

What are the network names of your vMix PCs

Do they have individual names (or simalar ones with index)? If not this could be the the issue.
The Zen NDI Router uses this as a feature.
The Name Detection and the videotransport are not directly linked in NDI. ZEN and Sienna use this to create a NDI matrix router. They modify the name header of NDI sources to send the right feed to the connected router output device wich is always have the router NDI input but in fact uses the the direct stream wich it should show the router told him. There is no NDI transport over the ZEN Router.

So if all you PC are Named “Production” or your user Name this may cause trouble in the NDI.

Thanks for the assistance Paul - I will try your suggestions later today when I am onsite & report back on what, if anything, worked.

I haven't tried but I believe what you describes sounds to me that all outputs are named the same. So you have three vmix outs all with the same name. So Tricaster just sees one and picks the first the came online. If you switch that one of it takes another one remaining. If you switch off the second the third should be captured in Tricaster.
You have to rename the feeds.

Sorry, a quick look and I was wrong. SHould have looked beforehand. At my end it's sorted by the computername and then the NDI name. But I don't have a Tricaster. Might be harder to select which is which in the tricaster.

Found the issue - all three laptops had the same name from the factory default setting of the laptop. Assigned each laptop a unique name, problem solved; all three vMix feeds showing on TriCaster and on each vMix laptop.

Thanks to all for the help - sometimes it's the simple things that can sneak up on you.
