Is there a way to set the trigger to negative?
It is to start (for example) 6 seconds before the video ends, (attached capture)
For the moment this is not possible, only positive delay, but not in negative.
Thanks.

A Tardis (ask Dr Who) would make that possible ;-)

Also a search would help as this has been addressed before in the forums : scripting , time remaining checking the video duration etc
thanks 1 user thanked doggy for this useful post.

No idea what you are telling me,
wouldn't it be easier to put negative values?

I was saying you could use a time machine.

The function is called On Completion, meaning at the moment of being complete, finished, done , over with at which point you can tell it to execute something immediately or a bit later but not turn back in time.

Back in time travel has been asked before in this forum and alternative solutions have been given for that using scripts for example which check the video duration or if you know it do use that and act upon that which can be found by using the search option in this forum. (hint: search for "before oncompletion")

Thank you very much for the clarification.

I see I'm not the only one.

I would like this option to be implemented later (update) as negative values in DELAY, so it would be easier for everyone (less steps and faster configuration)

Is there any way to request it?

Best regards.

Thanks, but I'm just trying to start being a power user, even though I have a lot to learn.
I just thought that putting a negative value would start the action before the video ended (something simple, and without scripts).
I would like it to be implemented in the future.
Thank you a lot for your time.

Intuitively, I put a negative value in "Delay" (see initial image)

I came to this forum since it did not work that of starting the transition before the video ends.

Is there a way to ask Vmix to allow negative values?

Some snarky forum shaming in here - disappointing...

The question is perfectly legitimate, and does not require a "time machine" as some have put it. Programmatically speaking, the countdown is almost certainly implemented as a global variable, or object, that vMix is constantly updating and polling for countdown purposes and firing of countdown triggers. How else do you think the countdown actually occurs and is referenceable everywhere within vMix, including OnCompletion?

At all times vMix is aware of the current value of the countdown timer, as well as the targeted end value of the timer. There is no reason a negative delay couldn't be applied to the targeted OnCompletion end time to determine whether a certain 'pre-trigger' value has been reached and fire off an action, and without lots of scripts that vary in timing based upon content, not stable countdown settings.

It's the exact same thing as if vMix were to implement a new timing feature called 'in advance of' vs. simply adding a negative value to a delay. Neither require time travel, just computer math.

Then should be posted as a feature request

As it stands a solution has been given to deal with it until such a feature request has been implemented
