I'm using a Bluetooth headset so I can use vMix Call but I've noticed that vMix doesn't like using the speaker and mic at the same time.

Under settings I've set my master output to the Bluetooth - all ok and I can hear perfectly.

I've then added an audio input for the microphone and selected the same Bluetooth device (ticked mute in headphones) - levels all work but it cuts the audio from the Bluetooth speaker.

Not sure if it's me doing something wrong or vMix, any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance.

This is the headset:
https://www.amazon.co.uk...w_dp_dlC_x_EGaSFbHETHES1

My Audio settings:
Caller - Audio On - Bus A
Producer - Audio on - Bus A

Master Output - Bluetooth
Headphones - Bluetooth

Bus A - Enabled

VCall
Host A
Guest A with S arrows connected and Speaker selected (allows me to hear them at all times, and they hear me)

I am thoroughly frustrated by the difficulty of getting Bluetooth to work with vMix. I have exactly the same problems. I have tried several different Bluetooth dongles and built it Bluetooth interfaces and 5 different makes of headset but none will work with vMix.

I have assumed that for some reason vMIx has designed out the possibility of using a Bluetooth headset both earpiece and mic at the same time.

The only solution I found is to use a USB interfaced headset like the Corsair Virtuoso. This was not ideal as I wanted in ear for the freedom of movement that they give.

A big advantage of the Corsair is that they do not degrade the audio quality as happens with Bluetooth.

Hi,

vMix uses the standard audio devices in Windows.
It has no preference for bluetooth one way or the other.

The issue is to do with how many bluetooth headsets work.
Typically they have two modes, a Headset mode and a Headphones mode.
The microphone only works in the Headset mode so if you have any software sending audio to the Headphones device
the microphone won't work and vice versa.

Additionally many devices have the headset mode set to very low quality audio which will not work as vMix requires
at least 44.1khz or 48khz audio.

For the above reasons, we strongly recommend NOT using Bluetooth audio devices in Windows.
A standard USB headset should be used instead.

Regards,

Martin

You can use a wired IEM (very cheap). This would require some kind of audio I/O device. You may want to use a wireless mic then as well. An external mixer might make very much sense for this to work and is useful anyways.
