I need method or piece of equipment that allows me to monitor my hosts audio without the host hearing their own audio in their earpiece. My setup involves a usb mic providing audio seperate from the camera. It is plugged into the vmix computer. Then, I take a audio split out of the computer headphone jack to feed my earpiece and my host earpiece. Because we share the same audio feed, I have to turn down the headphone output on the Mic channel so the host doesn't hear herself delayed in her earpiece. The downside is that I also don't hear her. Is this a hardware solution or is there another way to accomplish this?
Thanks,
HB

You should look at adding a USB audio interface for providing separate mix-minus (fold back) to the host. There are several available. A common inexpensive one is the Behringer UMC-404HD.

Rob, can you please explain how this works? I'm thinking of getting the UMC-404HD but unclear on how one can create a separate/mix-minus feed using that device. Thanks.

Use audio Busses
Set them on diffrent outputs of your audio interface (yes the UMC 404 can do it for 2 independent audio busses separated from the Master bus)

You will also certainly need a earphone preamp like the Behringer HA8000 8-Channel High-Power Headphones Mixing and Distribution Amplifier
