Hi all,
Have a client that is requiring we use their vMix through Windows Remote Desktop, I use a Streamdeck to control most functions I use and of course my microphone. Been trying to figure out how to use two through Remote Desktop app with no luck, anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris
Edit: I have to use the Windows Remote Desktop app

I'll start by saying that I have never tried this scenario. Have you tried TeamViewer? I believe the control software would have to be installed on the local machine.

Hey thanks Vince, Sorry just to be clear, I'm already remoting in to the destination computer and using vMix, what I'm trying to do is now add my Microphone and Streamdeck.

Edit: I have to use the Windows Remote Desktop app Look into Companion which will allow your streamdeck to talk to the remote vmix install and another tool called VirtualHere for the mic. Although i would probably use a local vMix install and SRT to send a producer screen with audio which we do and works perfectly.

Following up this thread as it seems like I need to handle a broadcast through remote access this weekend but never did it before. Seems like it should do fine with software like TeamViewer or AnyDesk (which seems smoother so far for me).
But my problem is also with a Stream Deck. We have quite a few shortcuts assigned to our Stream Deck and it does not seem to work straight away from my computer at home when accessing the remote computer. Tried looking at the Companion app, but I'm not sure where to even start with that one. Is there any easy way to access the vMix shortcuts from my Stream deck at home through remote access?
So far my best bet seems to be having to reconfigure all the shortcuts to keyboard keys, but that could end up being a problem if I need to use the keyboard. Obviously would save me some time if I did not have to reconfigure everything aswell :)

Is the Software/Profile on the target machine?
Do a full backup, and restore on the remote machine.

Actually now when trying it VirtualHere would not connect to the Stream Deck from the remote destination, guess it might be something with the ports in my network that stops this. So still looking for a good option to use the Stream deck smoothly via remote access. Or maybe someone who knows why I might not be able to connect. I tried opening the port 7575 but didn't help.

Ok, my bad. I had forwarded to port to an internal IP which was valid on wifi, but not on LAN. Now things are working. However, the buttons don't seem to respond when using more than one layer of buttons on the Stream deck. The first layer works, but not the 2nd. Any ideas?

I'm trying this out using Virtual Here and I see the buttons on the stream deck light up, and I can even change the buttons from the remote machine. But when I press a button I get a yellow warning sign on the button. ANy idea why this is happening?

I add a +1 for Virtualhere - we run parsec on the remote AWS Win Server machine and Virtualhere Client which connects to an M1 mac running parsec client and virtualhere server plus an Akai APC mini for Vmix control - been doing a show every week on that system - works like a dream.
To make it easier we use a VPN - Wireguard to be exact, we have a micro T2 instance that runs it - very solid and low latency compared to other VPN solutions we tried.
