In the image below, there are somethings that don't make sense to me. I'm not super proficient at vMix, so happy to be told what I'm missing. INPUT 1 is a grey image. On Multiview 1 it has Input 4 INPUT 3 is a vMix Call INPUT 4 is a Multiview of Inputs 3 & 5 INPUT 5 is a PNG border So, INPUT 1 is working fine. It's an Image with a composite of Inputs 3 & 5 on a Multiview layer. Great. All good. So here's the problem -- INPUT 2. INPUT 2 is a transparent blank with INPUT 1 on Multiview 1. So, Input 2 is showcasing the image from Input 1 just fine. But...that tricksy Input 4 sitting on a multiview layer inside of Input 1 is just showing as black on Input 2. If you're still following along I'd love to know why this is happening. It's totally fine if it doesn't work I'd just love to know why it doesn't work so I don't keep bashing my head against the wall. Thank you in advance for your help and of course, being a new forum user, if I'm just in the wrong spot, or this has already been answered, please be kind and just let me know where to look. Thanks again! vMix_Multiview Conundrum.jpg (204kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

@ twokingsfilms
If I have followed you correctly, it is because you cannot stack more than two layers deep in VMix, meaning a MultiView of a MultiView is possible, but a MultiView of a MultiView of a MultiView is not, you will lose the layers in the bottom MultiView Input of the stack. Essential, for performance reasons, vMix does not pre-render the MultiView Input for use in another MultiView. A “workaround” for this is to use a “Mix” Input of the MultiView instead as this will be a rendered image of the original MultiView Input.

Thank you so much @IceStream
When you describe a "Mix" input of the multiview, I'm afraid I don't know that I totally follow. Can you elaborate on that?
Thanks again!

@ twokingsfilms The vMix 4K and vMix Pro editions support up to 3 additional sub mixes via the Mix Input (only available from the “Add Input” dropdown menu). https://www.vmix.com/help23/Mix.htmlIce
