Dell Precision laptops non-G-Sync

Hi, I know this topic has come up, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer in my findings. Recommended specs for laptops is to have a G-Sync display. G-Sync requires direct GeForce graphics access on Laptops. This bypasses Optimus and is therefore much better for graphics intensive apps like vMix. I would like to purchase Dell Precision laptops 7550 instead of the Alienware M15 R3. We get better support and warranties with the business workstation laptops. In the 7550 BIOS settings allow or disable Discrete Graphics Controller Direct Output Mode Nvidia Optimus. Dell Precision laptops do not currently and what I've been told will not have an option for G-Sync display. Does anyone have experience bypassing Optimus BIOS in Dell Precision laptops? Do you think G-Sync is still needed if this is an option in the BIOS? Thanks in advanced!
