Our Church like most churches went online this year. We are sending a monitor channel mix from our sound board direct into our VMIX computer. The issue we are running into is that the mix at the board sounds nothing like the mix that we hear at the computer. Basically, My board mix will sound great, and the vmix audio will sound terrible. We are using an SI Impact Sound board to the 1/8" line in on our ASUS AMD AM4 ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX Motherboard. Here is a reference of the audio that we have. ?t=983 In an ideal world the person running video would basically hear the mix coming from the board and manage the volume of the mix to the output. What we're running into is that the video person will need to tell the sound person which channels to raise and lower taking their focus away from mixing cameras, and its extremely difficult to get a good balance in our mix. My question is, what can we do make our video mix from the board consistent with the audio line in to VMIX? Should I invest in a separate audio line in card?

Unless it is already in use, use the USB I/O to send audio from your SI Impact to the vMix computer instead of the 1/8" (3.5mm) plug. Try Enabling the Compressor in vMix https://www.vmix.com/help23/index.htm?AudioSettings.htmlMake sure you have the power settings on High Performance on your vMix PC.

I'll have to try this. Do you know of any resources out there to help set it up. Is it possible to send a monitor mix over usb?
Edit: I can see the inputs from the board in VMIX now, I just need clarification on how to set it up to pull the mix in.
