Hi Everyone,

I'm making the move from Mac to PC and from Wirecast to vMix (Finally!)

My primary use is live-streaming shows on Twitch, FB, and YT. Then, I edited the segments to post on YT.

I currently, and will continue to do this through a 2-computer setup -- Production computer and dedicated live-stream computer.

My dedicated streaming computer is:
DELL G5 15 Gaming Laptop
Intel 6-core 9th-Gen i7-9750H
2.6GHz
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti
256GB SSD, 1TB HDD
Capture card: Magewell USB HDMI Plus

I am looking to build out a dedicated vMix production computer for which my shows use:
- 4-5 guests on each show that come in through Skype (NDI)
- 3 cameras -- Sony a6400, Canon t3i, Logitech Brio
- I use a green screen locally
- Sometimes I use video backgrounds for my key
- Lower 3rd overlays
- 3 external monitors
- I will also do video editing and graphic design on this computer as well, noting too intense like 4K

I have some accessories that I will move from the mac side to the PC
- Echo Express III-R (Thunderbolt 3 Edition) - This houses my Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro 4K & Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Recorder
- eGPU: Razer Core X Chroma
- Video Card: Radeon RX Vega 64 8GB RAM

I plan to build my PC and my main questions are:
- Any pitfalls with any of those pieces of gear?
- I'm thinking of going Ryzen(not the new ones that are coming out) but what would be a good 7 or 9 series? (or would 9 actually be overkill for this?). Or, do I go with Intel for mainly production?
- Could I get away with using a motherboard with Thunderbolt and keep the external chassis?
- Or, Just pop the capture and graphics card into one unit?

In short, I'm trying to keep it under $1000 and allow for future upgrades. Would it be feasible to put a really good cpu in a box and keep everything else external through USB-C / Thunderbolt (which also keeps things cooler) or put everything in one case?

Final question...What if I just swap my Dell Laptop to be the main production computer and make the Mac the streaming computer? Would those specs hold up as a production computer?

Thanks!
- Peter

P.S. I have looked at the xMix reference computers and their videos, and wanted to also get opinions from all of you who are out there cranking away as well!
