Hi all,

I'm setting up a show but don't have the hardware with me to test this out hence my question.

I'm wanting to feed an on set monitor with an output of vMix (not the main output). Ideally, i'd like to send a Mix Input (or Mini Mix) to the monitor so that i can mix between sources while the monitor is in shot. For example, id like to have a show logo in the monitor, then be able to mix to a vMix Caller and then maybe to another caller and then back to the logo.
The two way's I'm thinking of doing this are:

1. I'd like to send a MixInput to External 2 so that I can feed the monitor with an SDI output.

OR

2. I'd like to send a MixInput to an NDI output so I can send the feed to a small laptop, and use NDI studio monitor to then feed the screen via the laptop HDMI port.

Are both these scenarios possible?

Cheers

This would work.
Setting a mini mix (input3 for example) to the output 2 and enable NDI you have both options available. Either use the NDI or use the SDI of an output card.

Great, thanks.

I'd rather use NDI but thinking that the SDI output of my decklink quad via a SDI to HDMI converter will introduce less delay than NDI via a laptop. As I will be putting callers in the screen, i need to think about sync.
