Will Skype via NDI as an input for a guest give me better quality (1080p) and lower latency for my guest feed than vMixcall.com calls?

Curious what others have found.

Despite what anyone may say here :) latency is a big issue in VMix Call even if all the ports are opened up, everyone on the call is on 1-gig fiber connections. There can be a lot of stepping on each other, to the point it's very distracting. Skype can have its troubles, too, but can net better results for people.

Would love video call performance close to what is seen in Discord (also WebRTC based). They just need to make it work via NDI, too!

beta.vmixcall.com has some major improvements, but its latency is still by far the number one negative feedback we receive for internal productions and when talking productions with outside partners. We usually find ourselves having the talent/guests do their actual discussion via another app like Unity Intercom or Discord Voice chat. VMIX Call is just loaded to get their video and audio into VMIX. See this type of workflow necessary with some satellite-based discussions, too, but not ideal for people calling in from their computers at home.

If latency can be improved, I don't think there would be anything stopping VMix from exploding even more than it has given today's REMI environment.

Agreed. Same here. The latency is terrible. Even for someone close by and a few hops away. vMix really needs to put engineering resources against making this a best in class experience. Right now, it's not that. At all.
