During our church livestream, the audio from our mixer (Behringer X32) is sent to a Presonus Studio 24c preamp then to our vMix PC.
We are having a persistent issue with audio dropping off during our livestream. We had a Behringer preamp previously and replaced it for the same reason.
I would like to take the audio from our Mixer and send it into an Analog to SDI converter and then input it into a spare SDI camera input on our Blackmagic card JUST FOR AUDIO. That would rid us of any external USB devices and keep all of our inputs SDI and on the Blackmagic Cards - hopefully giving us a more stable system.
Can anyone confirm that this would work for us?
Thanks - Jeff Jaco

Before you spend money on an audio embedder, have you checked your Power settings?
Are you running the computer with vMix as High Performance?
Under Power Options / Advanced Setting / USB Settings see if USB selective suspend setting is set to Enabled or Disabled?
If not, your PC may be turning off USB ports. Also, Behringer X32 has USB audio input/output (Slot on back of unit with USB & Firewire/1394). Are you using that to feed a device in your setup?

I'll check the USB power settings today.
The X32 is too far from the Video Prod PC to use USB directly from the mixer. We do use it as a means of doing a virtual soundcheck on occasion.
I'll also check the buffer settings on the Presonus driver.
Back to my point though, would sending audio over SDI into a capture port work for us it we can't find a solution quickly. We can't afford to have the livestream going down while it's LIVE. That is unprofessional and makes us look really bad - especially in these times when we have many more than usual watching it.
We are also considering putting a Dante network audio card in the mixer. That is the most expensive solution, but it has an excellent track record and sound quality. We have an enterprise grade network, so the bandwidth would be no problem.
THanks for the suggestions - I'm open to more.
