Today was out first Sunday using the latest vMix with our new PTZOptics camera installation with Focusrite Scarlett audio interface. 12 minutes into the service, all audio disappeared from the display and recording. There is no indication in any log file that this occurred and, after the service I discovered that audio could be restored by reloading the profile that we were using.

We have seen this in testing and done all of the power management related things suggested in the various knowledgebase articles have been applied.

This issue is causing vMix to be unusable!!!

Is there any resolution? (reloading the profile during the service is not an option.)

What I'm finding is that the audio drop issue has been occurring since the latest vmix update. I'm at our church now attempting to reload the previous version of vmix, in an effort to stop the audio drops.

Edit: Reloaded 23.0.0.59 (previous version). Will see how things go tomorrow!

Today's service went very well with no issues or audio drops! We're on v23.0.0.59 and will likely stay here for a while.

Response from vMix support

Unfortunately this is not a vMix issue, what is happening is the Focusrite is stopping sending audio to vMix.
Right clicking the input and selecting Reset tells the device to start up again, temporarily solving the issue until the Focusrite stops sending audio again.
If you have definitely double checked the power management, also try running the Focusrite software and setting the buffer to the highest level.

FYI, had audio drop out again in the middle of our livestream. I have an audient ID14 audio interface. I did what vmix suggested, right clicked on the audio input and clicked reset. The audio came back. I'm still on the previous version so the latest version isn't the problem. Not sure why this has just started up.

Have you checked the USB cable? Try moving it around both at the computer and the unit and see if that causes it to drop. It's exactly what happened to me.

Either way, I would try a new cable because that's likely the cause of your troubles.

If you are still looking for a fix, listen here. I tried older versions of vmix to see if my audio would stop cutting out. Did not work. I use a PreSonus Audiobox USB 96 in my church's livestreams. Changing audio bitrate and buffer size does nothing but lower audio quality.

My working solution: In windows 10 audio control panel(Windows 10 Pro Build 19042.985) find your audio device that keeps stopping in vmix software under the recording tab. Right click and go into properties. Under the listen tab find and check the box that says "listen to this device". Set listening device to your preference. This should keep your audio interface from stopping and dissapearing in vmix.
