I love that I can apply audio delay. In any video switcher system, whether someone is using vMix or not, setting audio delay is tough. Adding an API/shortcut function for the existing Audio Delay control could make it easier. Currently I use 'Audio Settings' in the General section on a camera audio input to reach the Audio Delay control. To save a step I also use the input 'Settings' inthe Audio Mixer when the input fader is visible (by 'visible' I mean 'without having to scroll the Audio Mixer'). The challenge is having to go in and out of the input until I get the delay right. If I only had to do this once, it wouldn't be a big deal. We use Zoom, and Zoom seems to change their lag with each session. This requires adjustment of each input for almost every weekly session.

Use case: We collect Zoom pinned inputs on several computers (one for each person speaking). Zoom 'Pinning' locks the display on the selected Zoom instance. We make the pinned display full screen and minimize the gallery (and move the gallery to the lower corner). We send the pinned sessions with NDI Desktop Capture to our production computer. We need about a 45 to 60 ms audio delay to align with the video. The tricky part is that it varies for each session.

Proposed solution: I have an Akai MidiMix with nine faders. It works well as a MIDI control surface for shortcuts. I would like to assign Akai MidiMix faders to the Audio Delay control like I do for an input volume. For adjusting volume, I assign the API/shortcut function 'SetVolume'. I would like the Audio Delay control setting to be assignable via an API/shortcut function. A possible name would be 'SetAudioDelay' and it would be added to the Audio function group. If you create that I believe a 'AudioDelayZero' would be a handy additional command to set the Audio Delay to zero.

The pay-off is reduced setup time. In my use case that happens weekly for each Zoom session. I imagine bloggers who have Zoom or Skype callers would face a similar challenge for each caller (although that is NOT my use case). It would help at events where you have to tie into venue provided audio and audio-enabled video equipment. I had to do that for a wedding recently.

I hope this is simple and can be added easily. This is my contribution to making a great product even better.
