I have been troubleshooting for a while now. I have a Blackmagic Decklink Duo 2 capture card and I am trying to use it as an external output from vmix. I am able to use it for inputs, but cannot seem to get it to output.

My Vmix file is set at 1080p 29.97. I have tried outputting from SDI 1 (Default video standard set at 1080p 29.97 (which I set from the Blackmagic video software) into a Decimator MD-HX (Which I am using to confirm that it is outputting. It then converts the signal to 1080p 59.94), and finally into a Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio SDI input.

I have tried putting a camera into the SDI port, so I know the port is correct. I also used the decimator to double check that video will show up at 1080p 59.94, but When I try to output from Vmix, nothing shows up.

Here are my vmix external output settings:

Vmix Video/streaming, External Render, Use Stream settings, and Use Display settings all have a check mark in their box.

Frame rate: NTSC 29.97p NTSC 29.97p (Cannot be changed)
Output Size: 1280 x 720 1920 x 1080 (Cannot be changed)

Device: Decklink Duo (1)1
Port: SDI

Audio Channels: Master
Alpha Channel: None
Audio Delay: 0

Here are my Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup Settings:

Default Video Standard: 1080p 29.97

Video Playback: Displays black output when not playing

During Capture: Video output displays playback video (I have also tried using Video output displays input video, but that has not worked either)

Color space: Video is converted to Y CB Cr 4:2:2
3G-SDI Formats: Are output as SMPTE Level B (Normal)
1080p HD and 2K: Are output as 1080p progressive video

Conversions: None

Connectors: SDI 1

Driver 11.2

Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Settings look ok to me. Stupid question, but are you aware that you have to start the External Output by clicking the button at the bottom? And you will only be able to start it, if you haven't already added this Decklink port (1) as an input in this vMix project.

Yes, I have started the external output. The output button turns red when pressed. Do I need to have any settings changed from the gear icon next to it? For example SRT1 enabled?

No, usually not.

Not sure about a solution. Two things just come to mind:
1) In Settings, Outputs - what have you selected for Output 1? There has got to be "Output" selected.
2) In the External Output settings you described above, you could try "Defaul"t instead of "SDI" as the port.

Are you aware, that the deckling duo Card has 5 SDI ports, which only 2-5 are usable for you?
The first port (from the left) is a Blackburst/sync output. maybe try to plug in your sdi on port 2.
