Hello. I've never dealt with those Black Magic decklink cards. What are the objective benefits of outputting vMIX image using these devices? Is it in any way differs from creating a fullscreen preview to second monitor from a video card? Does it require any CPU resources?

I was just thinking of sending vMIX image to a second computer/encoder for streaming and recording. And wondered why would you need this type of devices.
Thanks.

Better quality and they handle the output processing. Also a good option if you need SDI.

Everything that gets shown on the computer display is RGB, so if you need true video output, a Decklink card (or similar) is the way to go. Vince is right that it will provide better quality (no tearing etc), however they don't really handle any output processing as such. CPU usage will be higher because frames need to be downloaded from GPU memory into client (CPU memory) which takes time.

One more: fullscreen cannot output interlaced video, so the only way you can do that is with a Decklink or similar.
Best regards.
