How to deinterlace video sources in vmix?

Disclaimer: I´ve searched the forum and seen some mentions of this, but which is the best way to get this done?

We usually stream 1080i productions and stay interlaced all the way to the streaming encoder. This way we can do smooth replays at half speed and also record an interlaced master (for TV).
This is our setup:
all camera outputs 1080i vMix per camera input - tick "interlaced" vMix Project Frame rate - 50i
When streaming, we simply use a progressive framerate in the encoding settings i.e.: 25p and vMix will automatically deinterlace the output.
For interlaced recording you have to setup up the recorder appropriately.
