I have seen this on ESPN ect. when scores overlay/crawl is triggered the main feed is resized to fit above crawl so whole input is seen while the crawl overlay is visible.

When Overlay goes away the resolution fits to whole screen again.

Is this possible in vMix and how do I do that?

Sure

trigger on overlay in the change the size and position of that input and back on overlay out
