First, I am having another issue with setting up recording. It might be related to this, and it's mentioned in the following thread:

http://forums.vmix.com.au/default.aspx?g=posts&t=2299

That aside, when I enter some settings to record and then click OK, I get this error:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

In the box below that it says "Recording_OK_Button".

Everything else in vMix works perfectly as far as I can tell.

Trial edition of vMix 12, XP Professional 64 bit, all service packs installed.

Seems like a generic type of error, but I can't find an example of it happening in vMix on the internet. Other programs, yes, vMix, no.

Hi Matt,

Unfortunately Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and by vMix.
You will need to install Windows 7 or higher.

Just wanted to confirm that when running vMix64 on Win7 x64 I do not get this error even with the exact same hardware. So the error seems to be caused by running on XP, just in case anyone else has this problem.

One of the things that I guess confuses me about having to use Win7 is that the whole program works just fine on XP except for this problem, and vMix doesn't complain about not running on Win7+ unless you click the "Streaming" tab. So it's as if vMix only really needs Win7 for streaming and not for the majority of its functions to work?

Either way, running it on W7 like it's supposed to be run does not cause the error I mentioned.

Regards,
Matt
