Great to be part of the Vmix forum.

I am researching cameras to use with Vmix and I prefer Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and will consider other camera solutions that will work.

Prefer to stay under the $1000 range for budget purposes.

Can the forum members give me a recommendation as to what works, perhaps model numbers so we can do some additional research.

Do you already have a capture device?
What is your use case? Live events, studio?

Im also shopping for cameras. Following this thread.

I am new to Vmix so I am researching cameras, capture devices, etc.

The camera will be used for in-studio recording of interviews. Unlikely for now that it will include "live" events.

But, the interviews need to be clean, at least 1080p. Zoom if possible, but not a deal breaker.

If possible, I like the idea of the camera also having still photo capability.

You could go with a dslr and get an hdmi capture device.

However for a studio. I would get as many camera angles or shots as possible to keep it interesting.

PTZ optics has an ePTZ camera that looks really useful.

Im thinking about getting a pair of them and then setting up a bunch of shots in the software to do the switching.

This would make them single use for your studio but would be major bang for buck. 2 can be had for about $1000. When they come in stock that is.

Thanks for the feedback. Using multiple cameras would be ideal.

I am thinking our main camera (center) would be something like a DSLR and then perhaps 1 camera left and 1 camera right.

Thanks for the feedback. Any recommended megapixel, features, etc.
