Hi all,

Quick question can someone clarify the number of records or streams feasible (say at 1080p60) on a newer RTX Quadro card?
From my research, the "unlimited" on the previous models was dictated by the number of NVENC per chips on the card. Looking at the Matrixit would seem that more recent turning architecture cards only have one NVENC per chip and therefore would be less powerful for multiple records and streams? Is the newer architecture able to compensate for the lack of encodes per chip?
Would love to get input from people that have experimented with the new RTX Quadros, how many encodes are you consistently able to run?

Thanks in advance!

the limit is just software, so all the card have more or less the same hardware.
on quadro card, the card is unlocked to have "unlimited" and GTX have only 2, but you can hack a GTX to be "unlimited" also.
Obviously, each encoding stream put a load on the GPU and the PCIe, so the "unlimited" is only virtual and you better need to have a good card.
Nvidia is pushing a lot of cards on the market, but some are just different by the drivers.
Even some feature that are advertised as "RTX only" are running (with some hack) on previous card.
for example the atonishing AI noise reduction that is supposed to run only on latest RTX card are in fact running also
perfectly well on other card (even low specs) with software hack.
On the other hand, if you are professional, you probably do not want to rely on hacked system

The encoding hardware (chips) on the newest cards are vastly more powerful than earlier models. Thus one physical chip can do more than the hardware compliment on the older cards.

Remember that using the latest drivers, even the older GTX cards are now allowed to have 3 encode sessions. Not 2 as that old matrix states.
