Hi I'm using vMix 23.0.0.57 for a very small system with a single BMD HDMI input card. Most of the imagery comes from NDI, or pre-recorded video files.
My test file is a 3.2 GB file created by Davinci Resolve using the vimeo settings. I've used these settings for a year using OBS to encode them, but id like to move to a single box solution with vMix.
The hardware is a old HP desktop PC, with a quad core 2.8ghz processor, 8gb DDR3 RAM, 512GB SSD and a new GTX 1050 4GB.
I have successfully streamed without hardware encoding at 720 but i can't use 1080 because the load is too high on the CPU.
With hardware encoding, everything looks to be going well but vMix restarts. the log file eds with: [flv @ 051586e0] Failed to update header with correct duration [flv @ 051586e0] Failed to update header with correct file size frame=17906 fps= 25 q=28.0 Lsize = 115803kB time=00:12:00.68 bitrate=1316.3bit/s speed= 1x video:103573kB audio:11319kB subtitle:0kB other streams:0kB global headers:0kB mixing overhead: 0.792891% [aac @ 0515dc0] Qavg: 498.033
I've tried removing some overlays like the time and a ticker. I've tried changing the encoding rates etc but they all have a similar crash. At least i think it's a crash.
Does anyone have any suggestions? In my tests, there is 1 file input, one encoding output. I have 4 or 5 example logs if they will help.
thanks Andy
