Hello all,

I have searched the forums and cant find the answer .. or if it is there it is too technical for me.

I use zoom on my PC and share my Ipad in presentations so I can draw as I teach in webinars.

How can I do the same thing in Vmix?

Hello ask,

I do want a hand with this .. can you post for all to see in the forum here?

It seems like this would be a good thing for many people to know the answer to?

there are several way to do it.
you can buy an apple TV box (or a generic dongle with airplay capability) and get the ipad mirroring on the hdmi out.
this is a convoluted solution since you need then to input the hdmi to the vmix, but you can find hdmi to usb converter for 60$-.
the only trick is to find one that works fine with your dongle.
another solution is to skip the apple tv box/dongle and use the airplay server program (like lonelyscreen reflector or airserver), so you get the image directly through network connection.
then you can screencapture or send with NDI from a laptop for example.
another solution could be to get hdmi out from the ipad but it attach a wire to the ipad, not cool for stand up presentation.
this way you are really sharing all what happens on the ipad, so you can switch applications.
if you only need some sort of drawing pad, you can probably use one of the many presentation sharing utility (zoom, skype etc...) to share a simple drawing pad.

By using the suggested methods - ie Lonely screen etc, I can make this work. Disappointingly though the resolution quality on the screen is very low when capturing the ipad screen this way.

So the solution is to mirror the screen from the ipad to the PC. In doing so you are constrained by the aspect ratio of the ipad, and the quality delivered by the mirroring software. You then do a desktop capture to bring the ipad screen into vMix.

How about using the NDI HX Capture app on your Ipad? You should be able to add your Ipad as an input directly into the Vmix.
thanks 1 user thanked stfriday for this useful post.
