Hello everybody!

I has been using VMix for the past month and I have to say that I really like it, that is why I bought a USB Mixer to do my job easier but has become a nightmare...

Explaining situation:

I have the PlyePro PMXU88BT mixer connected to my PC with the USB cable. In there I just have for now only one microphone (the idea is plug 3 in the future) and my headphones. Everything works great.
I go to VMix, Add Input/Audio Input and I select my USB mixer. Perfect!
I talk, I can hear my mic... I play a video and I can hear the video (in order to hear the video I need to raise the fader of "MP3" in the mixer, because from there is where the computer audio is coming from). Everything amazing until...
I broadcast or for some test I record and the audio have a horrible echo...

What's happening? When I raise the MP3 fader the audio that I'm listening enters again to the mixer and it's playing again (I'm not able to hear it, it's something with the "Master" audio).

Solution and Problem:

1) Solution: I connect my headphones to the Line Out of the computer (so avoid use the MP3 fader) and I can listen everything perfect.
Problem: The mic have a slight echo (I tried to play around with the "Delay" option in VMix but still not 100% perfect, it's a 98% and that small delay kills me.

2) Solution: I connect a cable from the Line Out of the computer to my speakers and there a pair of headphones (with the speaker I don't know why but the microphone sounds a lot quiet) then another headphones to the mixer just for my microphone return.
Problem: I need to wear 2 set of headphones at the same time.

---*---

What did I tried?:

- Take out the USB cable from the mixer and do everything analog. A cable from the Mixer Output to Line In of the computer (this brings the microphone in without problems)... Then another cable from the Line Out of the computer to the Mixer so I can listen the videos (or VMix calls)... Same problem as before, the audio enters again thru the Line In and generates echo.

- I was playing around with the Settings/Audio Outputs, I changed the Master Output to the speakers, the Headphones to the mixer and vice versa, no luck.

- I created an "A" bus... I send all the videos and audios to the "A" bus (not the master) and from there the "Output" of the "A" bus I put it is as "S" (solo) so that audio enters in the "Mixer" (Audio Input) then the Audio Input sends everything to the "Master" ... This is the best way for now... Problems: The audios sounds like "compressed", looks like when enter to the mixer changes the quality. Other issue is that sometimes I forgot to change the output in a Video and go straight to the Master and that creates a lot of echo (and I'm not able to notice until someone let me know).

---*---

What am I doing wrong??? Do I need a different mixer???

I basically wants to be able to plug 3 mics to the mixer and have 3 headphones for the guests and them being able to listen themselves (without delay) and also listen music and videos.

Thank you so much for your time.

I have a mixer like that one. Mine is the ART one with only one channel but I believe it works the same.

It has one mic input and a stereo return from the computer. The problem is the audio that goes to the computer over the usb is the master out of the console. So if you return the audio from vmix (video content) you make it re-enter the master bus of the console.

I looked at the mixer and it does have an aux send. I would use this to create a headphone mix for your guests. Turn up the aux knob on the channels you want to hear in the headphones along with the video return from vmix. That way the mics are pre computer so there is no delay and your guests can hear the video as well.

You would also turn up the faders on the channels you want to go to vmix, however don't turn up the video return fader as this would create the loop.
Does this all make sense? Did you already know this?

You have to avoid the audio loop.
You use vMix as a source and destination at the same time. You have to create a mix minus to avoid the loop. The mixer has to support aux busses to do so.
Maybe it's easier to do the mixing and monitoring in vMix as it has a bit of busses available. With the solo "S" button you can monitor whatever you want.

Yes, the problem this mixer doesn't have the "S" button.

Anyways, I'm looking other mixer options!

Thank you so much for your help!

You can try to connect the line output of your PC to a line input of your mixer. That way you can send this line in to the Aux bus, or PFL (that is somehow similar to "S" button, but that's another topic ;-) the inputs you want to hear in your headphones.

these mixers are just regular mixer with an usb sound card integrated.
since your pc already has a soundcard (probably even several if you have hdmi output) you just need to choose
the output and input from the correct card.

Sounds to me like windows may be automatically selecting the USB device as the new default device. If vmix audio out's are also set to use windows default you can end up with looping and/or echo prone audio. I'd suggest a quick look at windows audio devices and switching vmix hMASTER and HEADPHONES outputs to be static outputs.
