I have a list set up with several audio files that play during my start screen and throughout my stream. Recently the list just quit playing audio. I removed the input and recreated the list but it still will not play the audio from the files. Any ideas?

What does "not play" mean? When you hit the play button on the input, does it turn into a pause button? Is there an error message? Is there just no audio level in the mixer for this input? Maybe you want to post a screenshot of vMix including the List and the Audio Mixer.

Meaning no audio response at all. The play button turns to a pause button but there is no audio. I know the files are ok because I can bring them in as individual sources and they play fine.

Make sure you have the latest version of vMix 23 installed.
