Does anyone remember back to the distant 'Noughties' when the fledgling US software company Serious Magic introduced a product called Visual Communicator? It was created back in those strange 'late analogue days' when Sony was heavily into launching SonyDV and their 1394 'FireWire', and an 'infant' Newtek was playing with Video Toasters running on Amiga 2000's - way before they stumbled across Tricasters and NDI!
The absolute innovation from Serious Magic and Visual Communicator was that they turned the production timeline through ninety degrees and had effective action triggers embedded into a teleprompting script. Embedded codes within the script managed all sorts of production options, like 'rolling VT' switching cameras and changing the backgrounds on the green screen (which came bundled with the software!)to name but a few.
Here is an old YouTube video explaining Visual Communicator from way back in 2011...

Sadly the taste for some generous greenbacks saw Serious Magic gobbled up by Adobe and Serious Magic sadly was no more.
But, with all the exciting features being bundled with vMix now, I wonder if we could generate enough '1's from the vMix forum community to request such a feature in a future upgrade?
Although any nostaligic comments from memories around that time would be a plus anyway. Fingers crossed for this post to go VIRAL!
