I have a significant number of files that start on a black frame, this means the majority of my inputs just display black. This was an issue on the first NewTek products (Video Toaster) and most annoying. Eventually they allowed each input to select an index frame within the video file to use as a default thumbnail. It could be an absolute frame number, or even an I frame index.

if you turn off automatically restart with transition

and add a OnTransitionOut SetPosition x milliseconds trigger
plus a OnTransitionIn Restart trigger of this input , you can have any "Thumbnail" you wish of this input
