Hiya,

We're running vMix social on a separate machine than our main switcher. This is primarily because we're running everything in the cloud and can't get a powerful enough machine to do everything we want on a single machine. (In fact, we're running vMix Call on one machine, another machine for our "vision switcher", and another machine for vMix Social and slides for our news segment).

Currently, We're outputting vMix social overlays via NDI and have a green background in the output (more detail: Overlay 3 is one instance of vMix Social and outputting green background and overlay 3 over output 3. Overlay 4 is another instance of vMix Social and outputting green background and overlay 4 over output 4). We are then chroma keying out the background on the vision switcher. The problem is we're not getting a good key, and the text in the vMix social "panels" is blurry.

Is there another way?
Am I doing this all wrong?
Is it possible to output a transparent background over NDI from the vMix social system rather than using a key?

Another issue we're having...
We're running two instances of vMix social on the same machine, which seems to be working. But. At least once per show this crashes. We have to restart it.

examples:
Small vMix Social panel: at around 48:10
Large vMix Social panel: at around 28:58

From Help:

Alpha Channel Support for NDI Output

When using the Output options with NDI, these will by default send standard "YUV" video without alpha channel.

To enable Alpha Channel on output follow the steps below:

1. Open vMix Settings and go to the Outputs / NDI tab
2. Click the cog icon next to the Output you wish to enable Alpha Channel for.
3. Under the Alpha Channel setting, select Straight or Premultiplied depending on the receiving application requirements.
