I figured I would start a new discussion post here in an effort to gather the knowledge to use midi-ox to get two or more different midi controllers seen on different channels in vMix.

If someone can help walk me through, i will create a step by step guide to help memorialize this process. It's something you probably need to do once when you get a second controller, then never have to do again unless you get a third.

I have a AKAI mini and a Launchpad MK.

Both are seen as the same device on Ch 1 when I enable them in vMix. Since vMix channel mapping only works with X-Keys systems, it appears that MIDI-Ox is the solution, but I've played for hours already trying to get my head around it and just can't get it resolved.

If someone out there has accomplished this, I'd appreciate the help and will create the users guide for all.

Thanks,
Paul

Many Thanks to dark_ata who took time out of his day from across the world to Zoom with me and walk me through the process today. I took a lot of screenshots along the way and assembled this How-to guide on Google Docs that you can all use as a guide. I have permissions set so others can comment, but not edit. Hopefully this saves everyone a lot of time and effort trying to solve this challenge.

How to remap 2 MIDI devices to different channels
