We have a brand new custom PC and just installed VMIX 4k on it yesterday. I attached a recording of the audio feedback/noise we are getting. It sounds like a helicopter or a cricket! It starts around the 4 second mark. We have a 1/4" cable coming out of our soundboard into a 1/4 to 1/8 converter plugged into the line in on the PC.

We have tried the following things so far and nothing has gotten rid of the noise:
- We have swapped out the cables
- We have tried numerous channels
- We have tried going into the microphone vs line in
- We have played with the gain, noise gate and other settings

I have to believe it is something simple that we are missing either as a setting in VMIX or on the new PC. Anyone have any suggestions on what to try?

Thanks!
John

Hi
You sure this is a vMix related problem, and not a soundcard/windows-related probrlem. In otherword your are able to record the sound clean in with example audacity?

Pretty sure it is a clean line. We had it going into our el gato capture device and streaming with it for the last 5 weeks.

It is a brand new custom windows 10 pc so it could be a setting there. Was hoping someone had run into it before and would be able to offer a suggestion. Hoping it is an easy setting change on the pc or in vmix.
