Hi,

I've installed the latest version of Vmix.(V7.0.2.8 / V2012)
When I want to add a new source with a powerpoint slideshow, i've this error message :
__________________________________________________________________________
PPV_NEW
AddNewInput
Le membre public 'DisplayAlerts' du type 'Application' est introuvable.
__________________________________________________________________________
NB : I translate in French / I'm french.

With the previous version it was the same thing.
I have also LibreOffice installed on my computer.

Can somebody help me ?

Thanks a lot for that very good tool.

Friendly

Jules

Hi Jules,

vMix requires a copy of Microsoft Powerpoint to be installed to work with slideshows.
Do you have powerpoint installed as well or just LibreOffice?

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your answer.

I have both LibreOffice and Powerpoint (quite old/2000 !) installed on this computer. And the PPT files are managed to be opened with powerpoint.
Also, I uninstalled LibreOffice and it does not change the problem.

Since Yesterday, I've tried Vmix on another machine on witch Powerpoint (2007) is installed (and not libre office) . It's OK. Except
it's too slow because it's an old computer.
Have you any idea to solve this problem.

Thanks for your help.

Very Friendly

Jules

Hi Jules,

vMix requires PowerPoint 2007 or higher.

uh... that's a pity for all the people going the "open source" way with Libre Office among others nice programs like The Gimp and so many others... Would it be so difficult and/or time consuming for you? Just a question...

The other open source office suites do not offer an API to extract slides like Microsoft Office does.

The best option would be to use Libre Office to Export the slideshow as a series of JPG images and use the "Photos" feature of vMix to play them back.
This is equivalent in functionality to using the powerpoint files directly.

Martin
