vMix Call - Black side bars on some incoming calls

Hi there,
I'm setting up a new show with vMix that will have multiple contributors in a 4 way box. These contributors will change on a daily basis, and may not dial in until the last minute before live broadcast.
The problem I am having is that when testing, depending on what camera a caller is using, I sometimes get a black bar on the left and the right of the frame (incoming resolution of 640x480). iPhones and iPad callers seem fine, but when using an older MacBook for example it creates this issue.
Is there a way of quickly telling vMix to adjust the call to fill a 1920x1080 frame? It seems strange that I can't find a way to change this, and I am having to manually adjust every MultiView state I have depending on the resolution of the incoming stream. This is very fiddly and takes a lot of time.
I was hoping that I could just adjust the vMix Call input to scale it, but this throws out all my MultiView setups (position, cropping etc).
There must be a better way... Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Many thanks, James
