I've been looking at the teradek clip for some time and I really like the thing. My only issues with it is that it does not support rtsp and there is no public dll to use the tds protocol (as far as I know). Does any one know if it's going to be released? Can vmix support it without the need of a cube (low budget/personal dev work)? Is there a better option for low latency wireless transition? Am I crazy?

Thx in advance

In theory Martin should be able to develop something like the free Stream Reader plugin for Wirecast and TriCaster systems offered by Teradek. Perhaps Martin needs to contact Teradek for that.

A cost effective alternative is to use one of the increasingly available wireless HDMI appliances. Virtually no latency (a couple of ms) and ranges from 10 to 30 meters.

A while ago I published a blog post about a DIY wireless camera. We have successfully used this in many productions, most recently at an event where we used two such wireless sets, one was the Nyrius Pro.

Note that the transmitter part requires pretty much power (5V 2A), so if you want to go ahead without any cables you will need for example a USB power pack that has a 2A output.

Interesting DIY project. Sadly the distance just doesn't cut it.
