I would like to replicate the University Challenge show with Jeremy Paxman with vMix. The host and all the contestants would be sitting off-site each in their own homes. Take a look at an episode from the 2018/2019 season: I would set a Skype video conference and place the NDI video feeds of the 8 contestants in 8 windows arranged in 2 rows. So far so good. The particular challenge is how to replicate the buzzers?

If you are planning to use vMIX to mix your audio, then audio buses can be really helpful in this case. Separate teams into 2 buses and send those signals to different destinations. As for buzzers. I understand that you need a remote button that triggers a sound/effect in vMIX. You can create a simple HTML button with JS code that sends a web request to your IP address. More on that - https://www.vmix.com/hel...ex.htm?WebScripting.htmlThere is also a way of sharing Web Controller over internet, though I suspect this is not very secure. https://www.vmix.com/kno...sing-vmix-web-controller

I just realized that all contestants can be on the same audio line. If one team deliberates on an answer, the second team can listen in.
Hence, the only programmatic challenge are the buzzers. I would like that each contestant can press a button, for instance, on a special Web page. For whoever presses the button first, a red border would surround her/his video feed. All buttons can be rearmed for the next round.
How would a Web request from a Javascript button trigger a shortcut/anything in vMix?

If there are 10 people participating then VPN is out of the question. The better way would be to direct all web requests to private IP with vMIX.
You need to have an accessible private IP from your provider or setup Dynamic DNS. Open vMIX ports in your router settings and send commands to vMIX web API.
