Have agreed to live stream a concert for charity and trying to work out a way to do this during the lockdown.

Scenario would be having two feeds from 2 different locations come into my machine with VMix installed where I turn it around into an output feed. Just to add, both feeds from the 2 locations won't be coming in at the same time.

Basically, can Vmix take in a remote feed and audio over the internet and produce an output at the same time?

How will the the feeds Coe to your machine?
It sounds like SRT could be a good way to do it.
Receiving and streaming at the same time is no problem with vmix

Not quite up to speed with the jargon, all relatively new territory.

What do you mean by Coe and what is an SRT?

I think he had a typo and meant "how do the feeds come to your machine".

SRT (Secure Reliable Transmission) is one way to send a video feed from one station to another. It would take some tinkering and testing to get both your clients to be able to send their transmissions through SRT so definitly do some research in the vmix manual, youtube, and more youtube to get a handle on it.

It may help to manage expectations too... I wouldn't expect perfection from any distant end that I didn't personally set up, so if you're hoping that each of the concerts sends you the immaculate feeds that we would all be hoping for, there may be some let-downs with the production.

Would you be able to use remote desktop sharing so you could set up their video feed from your station?

Thanks Knkproductions

Testing is definitely on the cards before going live as biggest concern for me is if the internet bandwidth can cope depending on the resolution of the feed they send through. VMix thankfully seems to have a video explaining the SRT setup that seems straightforward. Upgrading router to be safe.

We aren't expecting full HD quality output and thankfully they are aware of this. Testing should hopefully identify the best quality.

As for remote desktop, will use Teamviewer to set up their machines

You are doing a good thing for charity. Hope everything will work out well for you. I saw a lot of famous singers doing live concerts on their Instagram for free. Been stuck on a quarantine in my property in lake Garda here for weeks now and will have to stay more till April 6...
