Hello,

I have been approached to develop a piece of custom software for a vMix user.

All I have been told so far is this:

"All this API would do would connect the API of a program called vMix with the API from edgecast."

I have had a look around and I cannot find any information on the vMix API, or even if one exists...

Can anyone tell me if there is an API, if not, possibly where my customer has got confused?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should really contact them directly for clarification, but my guess is this is the API they are referring to:

True. I should contact them directly but they are on a different timeline and I was trying to do some "homework" before they "get up", so to speak.

If I download the software, does it have a built in webserver? who/what provides this API?

(just trying to get a head start)

Hi,

My guess is they want you to implement the streaming API on a server as described below:

http://www.vmix.com.au/k...spx/34/streaming-cdn-api

The above API is what vMix connects to in order to retrieve information about the streaming provider such as edgecast.
It is not accessable within vMix itself.
