                Hello:
Trying to learn, and am probably trying to do something that cannot be done. I have searched for this answer, watch the VMix produced videos, and read the manual on triggers.

Input 1: Static picture or graphic
 Input 2: Camera feed

I want to have a trigger on Input 1 that will switch to Input 2 after a period of time (like 3 seconds). I would fade Input 1 to output, then it would switch the output to Input 2 after 3 seconds. I have to be doing something wrong. Can someone please help? Thank you

A trigger responds to an action that occurred. One has to have a start action first
have you tried OnCountDownCompleted for the first trigger ?

If I'm understanding it right, at first you manually fade input 1 to output ("I would fade Input 1 to output"), right? Then your trigger has to be on input 1: OnTransitionIn / Fade / Input 2 / 500 (duration*) / 3000 (delay**). Don't forget to click "Add".
 * The duration means the duration of the fade transition, in ms, ie. should it be a slow or fast transition.
** The delay in ms is where you want to specify the time after which you want to start the transition of your fade to input 2, so in your case 3000 ms after input 1 has transitioned to output.

@ HTStream Please note: "Note that in order to prevent loops, transition effects have no effect for OnTransitionIn or OnTransitionOut." As per the vMix Documentation pages:https://www.vmix.com/help23/Triggers.html What you want to accomplish is possible, but you will need to do some creative thinking and set-up with countdown timers. Thank you everyone for the responses. I'll keep playing with it. I may have found a solution by using a playlist, but I'll respond with I find it my idea works. |
