Hi. I made a great workaround yesterday. I opened a small browser, ran Otter.ai, and set up an overlay to show that (cropped) browser as Otter wrote down everything I said. They're fantastically accurate.

However, this only works when Otter is being fed from my microphone. That means if I have guests, they will be not captioned. If we care about accessibility or people who aren't as strong in whatever language we're speaking, then we care about captioning. And as others have said around the forum, it's law in some countries.

I would like vMix to please use the Otter API (preferably them because the accuracy is wildly high) to have live captioning from the master audio so that everybody's words are written. Yes, it might not know who is saying what and might not name speakers, and it's no replacement for a human doing this, but it's better than nothing.

I'm requesting that live automated captioning be added even if it costs extra. Not wildly extra. Otter told me if I wanted them to live caption a conference I'm running, it's $1500 plus extras. Affordably extra, please. :)

Thanks.

@ deltacx

Have you tried WebCaptioner for vMix?

You can already send any vMix audio bus to Otter.ai by using a virtual audio cable and route your audio from vMix to Otter.ai. Just use the virtual audio cable in place of the microphone device.

If you use WebCaptioner, they have made plugins to feed the text directly to a vMix title, but feeding audio to WebCaptioner is done in the same way as mentioned above.
