Is it possible to add a feature that allows an input to be copied. For instance, if I bring in a camera, and do my color correction, etc., and want to bring in a matched camera without the same work required to try to get it to match - just trying to match the color adjustments takes time when all I'd want to do is copy the input.

This can already be done.
Simply create a Virtual Copy of your current Input (right click its cog wheel) and then go to General tab of the new Input and "Change" it to whatever new Input you want and the settings will be preserved on that new Input.
