I produce a lot of computer training content, and often, Instructors reach out to me to do remote recordings.

It can be super complicated to get decent audio and video.

VMIX call is really simple to use, it would be amazing to also, at the click of a button, send their computer desktop instead of their camera!

Thanks! Just my 2 cents!

This is possible now. Install a copy of vMix BasicHD (60USD) on the guest computer. This gives 4 inputs. Open one as a vMix call guest using the password generated by the host vMix you will send. Open a second input as a desktop capture. The third will be the guest's camera and audio. Now the guest can switch inputs at will.

Very good to know, however....and, it's my fault, I forgot to mention, that, all of the computer training content is LINUX based, so, they can't easily install vmix on their machines.......

So, having a simple toggle between camera/desktop would be really amazing. Seriously, it would improve my job and life 100%.......

On Linux, install OBS. OBS can switch between the camera and the screen, or create a composite.

It can send the stream to vMix as an NDI source, which is great of you're on the same network.

It also has a virtual webcam output, to feed vMix Call.

What mjgraves refers to is this https://www.newtek.com/b...nstead-of-capture-cards/ which should give you a good starting point. NDI can be picked up by a local vmix or use something like medialooks to transfer the NDI over the internet.
