I have found a bug that exists on at least Version .35 and .37, when you go to the shortcut menu with vMix x64 click Add and go to Find.... vMix can not find any keypresses or slider movements on a Korg nanoKontrol2. If you open vMix x86 and go to the shortcut menu it is able to find the Korg without an issue.

I tried setting my shortcut in x86 and importing it into the x64 version without any luck. Just got my Korg hoping yall can resolve this.

Thanks,
Nick Craig

Hi Nick,

Some older Korg controllers did not support 64bit, so that is not something vMix has any control over.
You can check this by seeing if it shows up in the MIDI devices list in Settings -> Shortcuts -> MIDI Settings.
If it shows up in the list, make sure it is checked and it should work.

If it isn't in the list, it means either the driver is not installed correctly or does not support 64bit.

Regards,

Martin

Also, MIDI mapping is only for X-Keys controllers so that being blank is normal.
If it shows up in the list, is checked and is not showing up in find, there may be some kind of odd driver issue.

For what it's worth there have been no MIDI changes in vMix 23, it is identical to 22, so this is unlikely to be a bug.

Finally, Korg released a driver update for the latest Windows 10 update, so it could be a coincidence as vMix 23 was released around the same time.
Please try this:

Howdy,

The device is checked in the MIDI menu and not working. I purchased https://www.amazon.com/K...n%2Caps%2C159&sr=8-4 this unit from Amazon.

I will check the driver tonight.

Thanks

Alright so I am running the latest drivers, device appears to be working in 64 bit mode. Even shows up in the vMix device list but still can not use it to generate a shortcut.

Device Drivers

Device in vMix

Thanks,

My Korg NanoKontrol2 installed and works fine on another system but when I tried to add it on a test laptop in response to Nick Craig's Facebook post it is not recognized in vMix at all no matter what drivers are used and I tried 2 different cables just in case with no luck on the laptop but same cable and no driver update on the other system it works as expected. Windows recognizes the device when plugged in.

Did another test on my work laptop and without installing any drivers the nanoKontrol2 was recognized by Windows and vMix 23.0.0.37 and I was able to set shortcuts without any issues.
So my test laptop issues are something other than a vMix issue but might be associated with Windows updates or some other offending software

Was able to get my Korg to be recognized on my test laptop. I booted into safe made and opened device manager, selected the option to show the disconnected devices and proceeded to remove the 2 instances of Korg drivers as well as the disconnected USB devices that showed up. Once I rebooted I was able to load vMix and see my device and set shortcuts with it normally. Don't have the Korg plugged in when trying this since you want to remove the disconnected devices. Also had one instance of the Korg driver that asked if I wanted to uninstall the driver and I approved removing it.

Okay uninstalling the Korg drivers worked like a charm. Working using a MIDI host to control vMix and VoiceMeeter at the same time.
