We sell streaming setups to high schools in Oklahoma. I am responsible for setting up the vMix software on each laptop before we deliver it to each school. For some reason, about 50% of the time, certain settings inside of the default profile we create don't save.
For example, I'm working on one right now and I added a watermark logo graphic that I added to the main camera input under multiview. I save the profile, open it back up, and the logo input is still in the software, but the multiview settings on the camera input weren't saved.
I also have an input tab setup with their most common inputs. I select it as the active tab, save the profile, reopen the profile and it's defaulted back to the "all inputs" tab.
What am I doing wrong?

sounds like your config file? do you mean your shortcuts? if so look where it says import/export at the bottom of the shortcut list to see where the file is kept and it's the .config file you need

I'm not referring to the shortcuts or settings. I'm talking about saving a preset. The shortcuts are always saved when I save the preset. A lot of the input customizations are not.

close vMix, Go to your System drive, open the ProgramData folder, and delete the vMix folder. Launch vMix again, and apply your settings, save, close and reopen vMix .....I think that is what I was told to do in an earlier version when I was having an issue... it worked for me then, maybe it will help you now....just let's know what happened.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and on the next vMix open, it made me put in the license key but it still didn't save the presets.

I think the problem may stem from the fact that I create a preset on 1 laptop and then use it on multiple other laptops. Generally I'll set up 3-4 laptops at one time with vMix and I don't want to have to config each one from scratch. Hopefully there's a solution.

You can save the Preset config file and transfer that to another PC, but you may also need to Export the configure file (Settings --> Export)
Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom. I've done that and I'm able to open the preset on the new computer and import the settings. Once I do that, all the presets, shortcuts, etc work just fine. The problem is then when I try to change a something and save the preset....it doesn't save all the changes.

That's curious. Definitely shoot an email to vMix Tech Support at info@vmix.com and see if they can pinpoint what's going on. Best wishes - Tom
